Olive groves

The Lun olive groves are a phenomenon that originated 2000 years ago. Back in 1963, part of the olive grove was declared a botanical area in which over 80,000 olive trees grow. A 7 km long promenade has been arranged through this area, allowing visitors to tour the thousand-year-old coexistence of stone, olives and man.

Bicycle path

A bicycle path connecting Lun and Novalja. The length of the path is about 18 km, either by road or by trekking, with minor climbs and descents along the beautiful landscape. During the ride, you can take a break for swimming at the Jakišnica or Potočnica beaches.

GASTRONOMY

The island of Pag, also known as the "Island of the Moon", hides some of the most fascinating gastronomic stories in the Adriatic. This is the result of the struggle with the bora wind, salt and the stingy soil.

- Pag cheese

Pag cheese – the taste of salt and medicinal herbs. Its secret lies in the specific diet of the sheep.

- Pag lamb

Pag lamb – naturally salted meat Due to the previously mentioned salt, Pag lamb meat has a unique taste.
It is most often prepared on a spit or under a baking sheet.

- Baškotin

Baškotin – a toasted piece of history
This is a hard golden-yellow rusk whose recipe has been kept by Benedictine nuns for more than 300 years, and Baškotin is so highly regarded that in Pag families it is traditionally served to guests with white coffee.

- Pag salt – "white gold"

Pag is home to the largest salt pan. Salt is obtained by natural evaporation in pools, and it is interesting that throughout history, salt was the main driver of the island's economy, which is why it is still called "white gold".

Pag cottage cheese - a seasonal delicacy

Cottage cheese is a by-product of cheese production, available only during the milking season (from January to June).
It is extremely healthy, rich in protein.

- Fish

And finally, a recommendation: Lun olive oil and the Adriatic Sea. The simple perfection of fish specialties lies in the golden drops of olive oil obtained from wild olives, whose aroma elevates every dish to a higher level.
